I applied toner to my face 7 times in a row and here's what happened...

The latest Korean skincare trend and fad is known as the "7 Skin Method." It's become increasingly popular in Korea and is based on the core hydration philosophy in Korean skincare routines. Toner or "skin" is lightweight and is quickly absorbed by the skin, making it the perfect product to layer over, and over, and over, and over (you get the point) again.

So what exactly is the 7 skin method?

The 7 Skin Method is literally applying toner to your skin 7 times in a row. You apply toner to the palms of your hands and gently pat on your face. Wait until fully absorbed and repeat until you've done this 7 times in a row. Any toner or skin should work but I do not recommend anything with alcohol (commonly used to rebalance the skin's pH) as it may dry out your skin. I also wouldn't recommend applying with a cotton pad because it may irritate your skin after 7 applications.

You can also layer multiple kinds of toners to get even more benefits. AND you can even include watery essences in the mix in case you get bored applying the same product 7 times. The trick is to go from thin to thick. This is true with the entire skincare routine. You start with the most watery product first (since it's most easily absorbed by your skin), then you move to the thicker/heavier products.

Do you have to apply it 7 times?

I don't think so...even 2-3 times makes a difference from the traditional single application of toner.

In a nutshell...

The 7 Skin Method works. I felt a difference in my skin when I applied my toner multiple times. It was a great way to get a serious layer of hydration going before moving onto the next skincare step. This method is also a lifesaver when you've run out of sheet masks!
